Riding dinner - culinary on four wheels
Enjoyment as you drive by. Imagine if the best restaurant in town was moving. Together with our partner “Riding Dinner”, an experience was created that dissolves the boundaries between sightseeing and gourmet cuisine. It is the combination of the best that Vienna has to offer: architecture, tradition and Viennese cuisine.
The prelude: Your carriage is no ordinary vehicle — it is a custom-made “dining carriage”, equipped with fixed tables and brackets. Your personal butler greets you and ensures that you don't miss anything. While the first culinary delights are being served, the horses start moving.
A feast for the senses: We pass through the most beautiful places in the city while you enjoy specialties from Viennese institutions such as the “Schwarzer Kameel” or “Cafe Landsmann”. Whether it's an elegant aperitif, a classic schnitzel or fine canapés — the food is delivered directly to the carriage at a perfect temperature. The wine sparkles in the glass as the Hofburg passes by.
Perfection in detail: Every curve and every stop is tailored to the menu. The butler serves discreetly and elegantly, while the coachman safely guides you through the boulevards. It is a private space in the middle of the city, a place for conversation, enjoyment and wonder.
The final passage: When the last chocolate is enjoyed and the trip is over, the feeling of having experienced something truly unique remains. Riding dinner is the ultimate form of appreciation for yourself or your guests. An experience that literally makes Vienna melt in your mouth.
Dogs are very welcome at Fiaker Paul. Your four-legged companions are welcome to ride with us and enjoy the experience together with you, as long as there is enough space.
The number of working days for Fiaker horses is regulated by law in Vienna and set at 18 days a month. That is equivalent to a 4-day week. Every horse today has a microchip which allows the authorities of the City of Vienna to specifically check compliance with this regulation.
At Fiaker Paul, horses work according to a conscious rotation principle, which gives the horses additional vacation in addition to the legal days off. They spend it at our company's own horse farm in Arbesthal, where we have a total area of 15 ha (equivalent to an area of around 22 soccer fields). We therefore offer our horses significantly more opportunities for free exercise than is required by law.
The classic carriage ride is an atmospheric city tour through the alleys of Vienna. Riding Dinner, on the other hand, transforms the carriage into an exclusive experience space: In specially converted carriages with table equipment, you can enjoy upscale cuisine during the trip — from an aperitif to a 3-course dinner, accompanied by your personal butler service on request.
